Specialized dentistry is an area of dentistry that has been formally recognized as a dental specialty by the National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards (NCRDSCB). Currently there are nine recognized dental specialties; including endodontics, pediatric, and periodontic dentistry.
